Removable Dentures (Full/Partial)
Removable Dentures (Full/Partial) Removable Dentures are a reliable and time-tested solution for replacing multiple missing teeth, restoring the ability to chew, speak clearly, and smile confidently. This service encompasses the fabrication of Complete Dentures (for patients missing all teeth in an arch) and Partial Dentures (for patients missing some teeth but retaining others). Modern denture technology, combined with meticulous measurement and fitting techniques, ensures today's dentures are more comfortable, stable, and natural-looking than ever before. Dentures function by resting on the gum tissue (and any remaining teeth, in the case of partials) and utilizing the natural contours of the mouth for retention. They are a practical, non-surgical, and cost-effective path to oral rehabilitation, providing a significant improvement in quality of life by restoring lost facial volume and supporting lip and cheek structures. Full vs. Partial Dentures: Choosing the Right Solution The choice between a full and partial denture depends on the extent of tooth loss: Complete Dentures (Full): Replace an entire arch of missing teeth (upper, lower, or both). They are designed to recreate the bite, function, and aesthetics lost after all natural teeth are removed. Partial Dentures: Used when one or more natural teeth remain. These dentures use clasps or precision attachments to anchor onto the natural teeth, providing stability while filling the gaps with artificial teeth. Aesthetic Materials: We offer various materials, including durable acrylic and flexible, metal-free options, to ensure a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing fit. The Customized Fabrication Process Creating a successful denture is an art that requires several highly precise appointments to ensure a perfect fit that harmonizes with your bite and facial features: Initial Impressions and Diagnosis: Accurate molds (impressions) of your jaw ridges and existing teeth are taken to capture the precise anatomy of your mouth. Jaw Relationship Records: We carefully record the exact relationship between your upper and lower jaws (your bite) to ensure the new teeth meet correctly when you chew. Wax Try-In: A crucial stage where the artificial teeth are set in wax. You try in this prototype to approve the color, shape, size, and lip support. We make adjustments based on your feedback until the aesthetics and function are perfect. Final Fabrication and Delivery: Once approved, the wax prototype is processed into the final acrylic denture. The denture is delivered, and final adjustments are made to eliminate sore spots and optimize the fit. Stability and Adaptation Wearing a new denture requires a period of adaptation. We provide comprehensive coaching on how to manage the prosthesis, including tips for eating, speaking, and managing early adjustments. For enhanced stability, especially with lower dentures, we often recommend Implant-Supported Dentures (or Overdentures), where a small number of implants (often two to four) are placed to provide secure, non-moving retention, eliminating the need for adhesives and restoring significant confidence in daily activities.
