Orthognathic Surgical Correction
When a bite problem is skeletal (related to the jaw bone size or position) rather than just dental, braces alone may not be enough. Orthognathic surgery is a corrective jaw procedure performed to realign the upper and lower jaws. This is a multidisciplinary journey involving close collaboration between our orthodontists and specialist oral surgeons. The process starts with orthodontics to align the teeth, followed by surgery to move the jaws into their correct relationship, and finishes with fine-tuning orthodontics. We use 3D virtual surgical planning to predict the outcome precisely. This treatment not only dramatically improves chewing, breathing, and speech but also enhances facial aesthetics and profile balance significantly.
