Efficient Endo-Perio Rehabilitation
Sometimes a tooth is attacked from two fronts: an infection inside the nerve (endo) and gum disease on the outside (perio). These "Endo-Perio lesions" are complex and require a strategic approach. Our rehabilitation service integrates both specialties. We typically treat the root canal infection first to remove the internal bacterial source. Once the root is sealed, we proceed with periodontal therapy to treat the external gum defect. This sequenced care is crucial; treating in the wrong order can lead to failure. We carefully assess the prognosis of the tooth to ensure it is worth saving. This coordinated effort offers the best chance of retaining teeth that suffer from this challenging dual pathology.
